About Northwest Territories
The Northwest Territories is located in northern Canada, bordering Canada's two other territories, Yukon to the west and Nunavut to the east.
Visit NWT in winter to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Other popular activities to do in the winter months are dog sledding, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling.
There is so much room to roam and in the process enjoy the vast wilderness and the multitude of wildlife that may cross your path. Your chances of observing grizzlies fishing for salmon or viewing a herd of Porcupine caribou is great. Keep your eyes on the skies, where you'll see swans, eagles, puffins and other exciting bird species.
You can get to NWT by plane but if you really want to experience the beauty of the region take a bus tour.
Enjoy winter activities, marvel at the Aurora Borealis, relax in the NWT wilderness, or gaze at the brilliant midnight sun in summer. If you have an inner passion for new adventures the Northwest Territories is the place to be.
