Nova Scotia - Go Green

June 26th, 2009

If your interested in old-world Nova Scotia, tour along the Eastern Shore through towns and villages where you’ll notice life has changed very little since the turn of the 20th century.  The tiny house and farm that comprise the Fisherman’s Life Museum in Jeddore, Oyster Ponds 37 miles east of Halifax was the home of a inshore fisherman, his wife and his 13 daughters around 1900.  Today this wonderful homestead is a living history museum which guides in period costumes, reenacting the simple daily life of an inshore fishing family, still in the heard of Nova Scotia culture.  Visitors who arrive around lunch time will be offered to share a cooked lunch over a woodburning stove.   They are also demonstrations such as rug-hooking, quilting and knitting, and visitors can also tour the fishing stage where the salted fish were stored.

Forest, to the penguins in the Antarctic and the different kinds of fish that inhabit the waters of the Saint Lawrence River.  This is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions you won’t want to miss.
